    Failure Analysis of an Incoloy 800H Cyclone Separator Shell

    • The damage and spalling reasons of an Incoloy 800H cyclone separator shell were analyzed by means of macroscopic inspection, chemical composition analysis, energy spectrum analysis, scanning electron microscope analysis, metallographic examination and so on. The results show that the inner wall of the cyclone separator shell was subjected to severe erosion and abrasion of the material in it, and it was also affected by intergranular corrosion, which led to the failure of early abrasion and perforation of the shell.
